This was really cool. I wish I could do this kind of thing. I just don't know how to mess with all of the sound effects and stuff. I just wish that that the beat lasted a little longer. Same goes for II, except in that one the beat kept stopping too often. Nonetheless, they're both cool.

The way I did this was intentional. Beats coming and going in a backdrop of ambient beauty. Much like a beautiful woman in lovely area of nature. They come, they go and are hard to keep a hold of without a hard effort.

And thank you for your listen and review.

Pokemon Sinnoh Pokerap

You did an awesome job with your rap, at least from my point of view. At first I thought that the background music was awesome too, but then it occurred to me that it was too good to be originally written by one of the people here on Newgrounds. Looking through your reviews, I noticed that you said that it was based on "2BA Master," which admittedly I've never heard before since I don't watch the anime, I only play the video games. So I decided to listen to it. Did you make the remix yourself? You did a great job with it if you did.

The main thing keeping me from giving you a ten is... there's no beat! Where is it? You've got an awesome bassline, some sweet percussion, and even lyrics, but... no beat? I'm sure you could have done it, considering the talent it took to do the rest of this. I didn't really like the overall song the first time I listened to it because I thought it was rather dull, but it grew on me once I listened to it again... about 28 or so times...

Still, it's really catchy and definitely deserving of the praise it's had. How the score went down as much as it did is beyond me though... Maybe it would've been nice if it was a little longer... but what can I say, I've got electronic music all over my iTunes, I'm more used to these 5-7 minute songs, I guess there isn't really much more length that this needs. Do another rap with all of the pokemon, that'd be pretty sweet, heheh... yeah, probably not happening any time soon.

Sorry if my review is rather confusing, I just have some trouble organizing all of my ideas in a way that makes sense. Seeing other reviews of people exerting their bias towards their hate of pokemon and the memories of seeing the show in the past is very saddening though, nobody should be writing reviews unless they can offer constructive criticism and they are into the genre and concept.

No worries, it's not confusing at all! In fact, I had a fun time reading it, so please excuse my horrible attempt to answer everything you've written.

I find it ironic that you use having only played the video games as your reason for not recognizing the song, because the song ISN'T from the anime; it's from a VIDEOGAME called "Pokemon Puzzle League" that was released for the Nintendo 64. There's your little funfact for the day ;D

Sorry, man, but there won't be a rap with all 493 Pokemon. Not only does Nintendo's having done all the other raps so far make it an unoriginal concept, there's NO POSSIBLE WAY I could incorporate music that would stay interesting for that long.

As for your comments on the reviews of others, all I can say is that it's expected. The hilarious thing is that my ORIGINAL Pokerap Submission, which is still in my portfolio here on NG and has a MUCH WORSE QUALITY AND RECORDING, is still above a 4.00 in score. It's all because of list placement, and who you happen to be above, the latter of which is perhaps the most biased concept to base a review on.

Such is NG.

Thanks for listening!

Watermelon Man

It's a pretty good remix overall. I don't know what "zero mixing" means, but the sax is way too loud. Maybe that's what you meant when you siad it was quite unbalanced... You should do "Canteloupe Island" next.

Claxor responds:

Yup, that's what I meant.
I just transcribed the song for Jurian, and decided I might as well record it :P

Ominous Dancefloor

It's a pretty good garageband song. I liked it at the beginning, and then it got progressively worse when the pattern changed from a darker song to a ligher song. It is a pretty cool style, though.

Music-story responds:

Hey thanks for the review. Well I think I warned you about the whole happy celebratory part. Since soo many dance songs are essentially raves, dark mood, and not soo perky I decided to change that. I guess it is not the norm yet on newgrounds since the majority love the whole rave, trance, techno, but oh well. Gotta start somewhere.

Dance to the beat

It's decent. I think you could do a lot better with a bass track like that. I like the part at the end when the synths/bassline change. Keep making more electronic music, no matter what anyone else tells you! Thanks again for reviewing my music too.

thanks for the review! I'll PM you when my new song is out. thanks again!

Movin' n' Shakin'

This is a really cool track, I enjoy it. I don't listen to much D&B, but if I come across something really good I'll take it. Well done.

ShinDenjin responds:

Thanks man. I don't do DnB all that much, so I wasn't sure how it will ultimately turn out. Just have to wait and see^_^

I don't think it's that good,

It's just that I was (stupidly) expecting it to go somewhere, but then I realized, "Oh! Loop dance version! This may be repetitive!" Not that I mind repitivity at all, take a listen to my songs that I submitted! But this song just didn't go anywhere interesting. A remake of the entire song (Blue Da Ba Dee) might be cool, though...

D-A-J responds:

Oh well, we all have our different looks about music... I dont judge you...

This is cool...

It doesn't sound like much of a Mario tune, but it should be. I like it a lot.

StealthNice responds:

haha thanks =)
